Roaming about the earth and signs

One day the angels came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came with them. The Lord said to Satan, “Where have you come from?” Satan answered the Lord, “From roaming throughout the earth, going back and forth on it.” Job 1:6-7 NIV

I’ve always envisioned God sitting in the great conference room of heaven waiting for the angels to come trickling in and take their seats, much like a human boss waiting in the office conference room as his staff trickles in for a meeting, folders and reports in hand, along with coffee mugs. God knew exactly where Satan had been and what he had been doing, but decided to have a little fun with him and asked him where he had come from, spin him around a little bit. Satan answered truthfully: he had been roaming around on the earth causing trouble for the righteous.

Now, after a long blogging absence I find myself answering the question, “Where have I been” much like Satan did – roaming around on the earth although I haven’t been causing any trouble, just the busy days of life and going here and there. If you ask me what I have been doing, my answer is – I don’t really know, but I’m always busy.

So…recently when this iris bloom surprised me I knew it was a sign to get back to this blog and start sharing those little simple things of life.

Trader Joe’s had hyacinth’s in little glass vases for $3.49, so I thought why not try one. It has been very happy in my kitchen window and smells heavenly! I know hyacinths will be a part of my plant collection from now on. I’m also on bud watch with the amaryllis and will soon share those blossoms. Yes, the little simple things of life that bring me peace.

  1. So happy to see you back! I was checking my reader and for some reason, you are not showing up anymore, so I re-followed. I have missed you while you have been roaming the earth and was happy to see you comment the other day. The iris and the hyacinths are both gorgeous! I sometimes get a hyacinth this time of year, but have not done so yet. I think that brilliant purple would go well in my new room–which I might add is quite simple compared to the before Boho eclectic mishmash that I liked.
