Balloon Fun

The back of my car filled with the doomed balloons. Nice and cool at that time!

My first balloon tower (created for the recent dog show and our breed specialty) ended in disaster after being transported to its intended location. Most of the balloons popped when I took them from the 70 degree car into a building that had been open all morning to allow unloading by vendors. The air-conditioning was just coming on, but too late for the balloons. Pop pop pop in the ninety degree heat. I was disappointed that my work disappeared into thin air, but not discouraged.

Tower #2 successfully completed and installed

One of the clubs I belong to is celebrating its 103 birthday, so as part of the decorations I offered to make a balloon tower. This time I knew I would be taking them into a cool building. Set up went okay and the club president was thrilled, even asking me to inflate more balloons to use in decorating.

Oh my aching hands today, but it was fun to see the tower on display and all the balloon clusters in the room! Next on the project list is a garland and what about an arch someday? It’s fun and doesn’t everybody of all ages love to bounce a balloon around a little?

Live is short, have fun!

  1. Oh no! I had no idea a balloon would do that with temperature change–I guess the heat caused the air to expand inside the balloon? Your tower is lovely though, and I will await the arch because yes, playing with balloons is fun!
