Tamales are available year round, but during December they become a treasured tradition. People stand in long lines for fresh tamales at the tamale "factories". Grocery stores also offer them hot and ready to grab and go! Many families also have the Christmas Eve tradition of eating tamales then. (They are also good for breakfast!)
