Welcome to the land of mixed up seasons

Yes, it is December and these pictures were made last week. Fall has finally arrived in South Texas, just in time to compete with Christmas decorations. It happens every year and why on earth God set our seasons up like this I will never understand, but when fall color pops out I appreciate it!

The leaves were not as brilliant as they usually are, probably due to the drought and lack of rain. These trees are now bare and the yards, sidewalks, and street are covered with the leaves of many colors.

  1. Everything here is carpeted in yellow leaves. On the other hand, it is like watching snow fall as the leaves drift down, and somehow, those naked limbs just entrance me against a gray sky. The trees there are like copper!
