The first post after a long absence (and sporadic posting prior to it) is always awkward. Where do you start?
With an apology for your absence and a promise to turn over a new leaf and do better?
Or just jump right in like you just posted yesterday and the day before and the day before and the day before, etc.
How do you decide what to post first when you have so many things to share and so many thoughts writing themselves in your mind?
Well, the answer seems to be to share something simple. After all, this blog is supposed to be about the Small Simple Things of Life. Make no apology because life has been good and I’ve been occupied doing other things, all just as important as getting these words out of my head and into the laptop. Finally, just start sharing whatever seems to prompt me, quit thinking I have to organize everything. Just write!

Welcome back! I know exactly what you mean about your first post back! I took an almost 2 month break, and I pondered what to write as my first post back. I even wrote a post about my blogging break. But then I just decided to go with kind of a regular post. There really isn’t a “right” answer. In any case, it’s nice to “read” you again. I love the Small Simple Things of Life. 🙂

I’m slowly catching up on my blog reading, too. I enjoy your blog, too!

No apologies needed – we all take breaks at times. I like the quote at the beginning, because I think it is true.

I’ve missed you and your travels. It is great to see you back and ready to go again. The quote and the water over the sands are a perfect message: things go on.
